A cosy corner in the ancient heart of the Italian capital where you’ll be happy to rest up after a day of sightseeing and shopping. This attractive, sunny apartment, situated on the second floor of a noble building, has spacious rooms and high ceilings, a kitchen with everything necessary to prepare an intimate dinner, and a sumptuous bathroom. An expert restoration tastefully reveals sections of ancient brickwork in the plaster walls, and the original coffered ceiling in waxed oak is a marvel.
A truly relaxed atmosphere is thanks to a soft palette alternating the tones of white and ivory of the walls and wooden furniture with the pastel colours of the floral motifs on headboards and upholstery. The owners’ good taste is evident in every detail, from the framed etchings of Roman views to the Art Deco clock and little nightstand lamps.
You might watch for hours at the window listening to the clatter and chatter as life flows by in the piazza below, waiting for the sunset; later to go back out again for an aperitif in an outdoor café (both summer and winter) before taking off on another stroll through this inexhaustible neighbourhood. In fact, you’re just a few steps from everything here: the market of Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Farnese, the Roman Forum and the Altare della Patria, the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, the River Tiber and its ancient bridges, and Trastevere, where the nightlife lasts ‘til dawn.
I’ll be there to welcome you and offer advice and suggestions for possible itineraries, restaurants and entertainment, and to help make your stay a truly unforgettable one.
