The cabin is a bright and charming refuge, equipped with every comfort, warm and equipped for winter and snow, comfortable and very cool in summer. Outside the air is crisp (we are at 1500 meters above sea level) but in the large lawn there is always the sun which heats the solarium, giving the laziest guests a nice mountain tan. In addition to piste skiing and very long cross-country trails, in Ovindoli you can practice every type of activity: from trekking to climbing, from mountain biking to horseback riding, from guided tours with quads to archery. Or you can simply take walks towards the peaks of the Sirente, Etra and Velino mountains, and in the daffodil-filled greenery of the Arano Valley, up to the astonishing Celano Gorges. Along the way, you pick strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, currants and gooseberries, and perhaps you might come across a deer or a roe deer, or more rarely you might spot a Marsican bear. Every now and then you can stop and, lying in the grass, you can follow the reckless evolutions of the golden eagles in the sky.

The space

We are in Ovindoli, in Abruzzo, in the heart of the Sirente-Velino national park. This is the white kingdom of skiers in winter and a very green environmental paradise in summer. Immediately outside the town, on top of a grassy hill with a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains, a Roman family of mountaineers built this delightful, well-kept and hospitable hut. They furnished it little by little, taking care of every detail, with furniture, tapestries and handcrafted objects brought from Alto Adige and memories of generations of skiers and hikers who lived there.
